Job description

Our clients’ dev team is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Product Manager, to work alongside an eGaming development team based in Cape Town. They will be familiar with Agile scrum based principles and will work with the development team to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met for each release. They will build an excellent working relationship with the key stakeholders to translate the requirements, to form the backlog and prioritise the requirements in order to give business value and represent the end user’s needs. 


Duties will include, but not limited to:
Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and help develop the product strategy and roadmap

Define and clearly communicate a prioritised roadmap that implements the development department’s strategy, including measurable improvement to support key business goals

Understand high level requirements and decompose these into smaller packages of work for implementation within Scrum team

Build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships across the company

Actively seek input from internal and external stakeholders and complete competitor analysis to keep abreast of industry and best practice

Work with the Business Analysis team to produce personas, detailed user journeys, acceptance criteria and designs ready for implementation

Assist with product /system/process documentation to support users and business continuity

Work with the scrum team to deliver key milestones, including managing and prioritising the sprint backlog to ensure the work items delivered meets expectations

Provide regular updates to stakeholders on strategy, successes, learning and progress on product vision

Overall owner (champion and advocate) of the product, keeping the business and IT informed of the work delivered and benefits to the business

Understand the strategic and competitive position of the product, carry out competitive analysis and deliver value adding increments

Lead and inspire the Scrum team to instill quality, encourage innovation and reduce defects

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required
• Experience of working with Agile Scrum delivery methods and a good understanding of the Product Owner role
• Successfully worked alongside developers, scrum masters, BA’s, project managers and senior stakeholders
• Experience of creating and developing a product vision for new and existing teams
• Ability to capture requirements and the skills to balance strategic needs while focusing on the customer
• An understanding of software development lifecycle an ability to work closely with technology teams in scheduling functional and non-functional requirements
• An understanding of E-commerce businesses and the customer acquisition funnel
• Ability to make decisions about business priorities in a fast moving environment
