They are currently looking for an Intermediate SQL Developer to join their team.

Job description

As the Intermediate SQL Developer, you will focus on the operational and analytical data and reporting requirements to support our client’s database systems providing BI data for their front end web applications. You will be responsible for design, development, maintenance and support of data and reports required by our front end users. You will also engage with stakeholders to meet the requirements and targets of the business unit.

Duties include, but not limited to:

Create, maintain, optimize stored procedure, databases and ETL processes

Extract, consolidate and analyse data

Debugging, monitoring, troubleshooting and problem-solving current solutions

Develop and test issues aligned to specifications

Work with all levels of development from impact analysis through implementation and support

Integration of new sources of data into company databases so that it can also be analysed and included in relevant reports

Integration of data into relevant workflow processes, with the specific aim of continuous improvement and data optimisation

Interact with Project Managers and Product Owners in developing and executing project plans or development tasks within assigned schedule and timeline

Interact with stakeholder's to understand and gather requirements and business needs

Essential Criteria:

• Undergraduate degree (or substantial progress towards one) with majors in IS / math / stats / engineering or similar with at least 3 years work experience in a SQL development role
• 3-5 years strong SQL experience (creation of stored procedures, functions, automation of jobs, performance tuning and optimization, RDBMS, error handling and logging, etc.)
• Database best practise experience, performance tuning and optimization
• Exposure to SSIS/ETL tools
• Knowledge of Data Warehouses and ETL Processes
• Experience in developing reports
• Be able to give accurate technical estimates

Desirable Criteria:

• A relevant post-graduate
• Database administration knowledge
• Exposure to database design and/or data modelling
• Exposure to ETL methodologies and technology
• Exposure to any reporting tools such SSRS, Power BI
• Experience working in a production support environment
