They are currently looking for an IT Network Administrator to join their team.

Job description

Reporting to the IT Networks Team Lead, you will as a member of the Network team be required to effectively manage the organisations network environment.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

Administration of Layer 2 Switching environment ensuring optimal configuration and performance

Administration of configuration management and logging systems to ensure all network devices are being logged correctly

Maintain a relationship with service providers to ensure the best possible service from them

Administration of wireless environment ensuring all clients can connect and receive adequate service

Administration of routing environment, including the ability to failover BGP networks or NAT’s on edge firewalls

Configuring firewall policies as outlined by the InfoSec team

Maintain and configure load balancers

Advanced efficient troubleshooting of network issues related to either packet loss, latency or jitter and appropriate actions taken to remedy these issues as a matter of urgency

Monitoring of network environment ensuring metrics such as utilization, latency, packet loss and jitter are logged and deviations are alerted both within LAN and WAN environments

Ensures monitoring and notifications alerts are escalated appropriately

Ensuring network connectivity and firewall access is configured appropriately and running optimally

Reporting of system and network health on a weekly/monthly basis

Normal core working hours but available 24x7 for support, troubleshooting and emergencies after hours

Exposure to, but not limited to:

- Linux servers

- Microsoft Windows technologies

- Virtualization technologies

- Backup solutions

- Monitoring Solutions

- Collaboration solutions

• A Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification
• A Relevant Networking certification such as CCNA or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry
• Previous experience in 24/7 E-Commerce Environment
• Proven understanding of Switching, Routing, Firewall and Load Balancer technologies
• Proven experience in configuring and deploying network equipment including but not limited to, Switches, Routers and Firewalls in a secure standard based manner
• Proven understanding of dynamic protocols such as Spanning Tree, BGP etc advantageous
• Experience in using coding/scripting to automate/reduce time taken to complete manual tasks advantageous
• Microsoft Certifications advantageous
